Another baby at Aretas PT Hales Corners
The babies keep coming and they don’t stop coming! Jenna LeSueur, a PT at Aretas Hales Corners, welcomed her first child, Sebastian, a couple months ago. Check in at the Hales Corners clinic in the upcoming weeks for updates, baby pics, and to see Jenna’s smiling face after she returns.
Summer students from our local PT schools
Aretas Physical Therapy currently has two summer students! Kendra, a PT student from UW Milwaukee, is working and learning at Aretas PT Wauwatosa. Lizzie, a Marquette PT student, is doing the same at Aretas Hales Corners. Look for both of them at the clinics for the next few weeks before they head off for a bit more school and the start of their careers!
Exercise of the day: Bridge with abduction
Strengthen your glutes for more power when climbing the stairs or jumping over the sprinkler! This is a great exercise no matter your fitness level and is a great addition to any core routine.
Start by laying on your back with a band around both legs, slightly above your knees. Engage your core by pushing your back down into the surface and tucking your tailbone underneath you. Push your knees out into the band until you feel slight tension. Keep your core engaged and lift your hips into the air, pushing through your heels. Maintain your knee position throughout the movement so that the tension in the band is equal throughout. Return your hips to the ground and repeat. Perform 12 repetitions, take a break, and repeat for a total of 3 sets. Enjoy the muscle burn in the sides of your hips and in your glutes.
If you don’t have a band handy, stop at one of our clinics and tell a staff member you need it for the exercise from the patient email! If the movement is bothering your back or painful in any way, use this link to book an appointment with one of our PT’s.
